Welcome to 2022! The aviation industry limped through the holiday season, challenged by the new Omicron variant, impacts on airline staffing, and bad weather. Yet it seems that we are settling into a new normal of responding to new variants and developing more resiliency. It will be a continuous and challenging process, but we will get better. Looking to 2022, there is a lot of opportunity awaiting the airport development sector, particularly as we embark on implementing $25 billion in additional airport funding over the next five years. ACC intends to work with FAA on the implementation of the infrastructure bill and address the challenges of the existing and future workforce. We are also excited to continue ACC’s progress on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI). We look forward to engaging with our members companies on leading the future of airport development into 2022!
