The ACC Engineering Committee keeps ACC members informed about current and upcoming industry trends in aviation-related engineering. This includes collaborative research and quarterly updates that serve ACC and the engineering community. The committee, guided by the ACC Strategic Plan, informs members about airport development and aims to be the industry’s leading resource for identifying emerging aviation trends and innovations. The committee also brings new ideas to the FAA by regularly reviewing Advisory Circulars in need of update, and collaborates with the Education/Accreditation Committee in the development of ACC webinars and other training sessions.
2025 Committee Meetings

The committee convened in Pittsburg, PA to begin consolidating responses from ACC Members to the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) draft Advisory Circular (AC) 150/5370-10J – Standard Specifications for Construction of Airports. The meeting was facilitated by Committee Chair Tarryn Little, Vice Chair Chris Reis, YP Liaison Anna Francis, and Board Liaison Bill Peduzzi.

The Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Harold Honey joined the Engineering Committee as a guest speaker to discuss the upcoming draft Advisory Circular (AC) 150/5370-10J: Standard Specifications for Constructions of Airports. He indicated that the new update would have the most comprehensive changes in 10-15 years, including major changes to pavement specifications, and the removal of up to eight existing specifications. Draft industry review is anticipated in Spring. The Engineering Committee is seeking volunteers for review, contact Committee Chair Tarryn Little (RS&H) with interest.
Ryan Hall (Kimley-Horn) announced the launch of the Military Aviation Engineering Subcommittee with a major goal to establish connections and relationships between consultants and stakeholders, such as the Department of Defense (DOD), as well as share lessons learned in the commercial aviation industry.
