The Senate Appropriations Committee released details of its FY 2023 U.S. Department of Transportation annual spending bill last week, which provides a total of $19 billion for FAA. Similar to the House bill, the Senate proposal would fund the Airport Improvement Program (AIP) at $3.35 billion. The Senate bill also proposes an additional $517 million in additional discretionary funding, compared to $272 million included in the House bill. Of this amount, the Senate includes $117 million as earmarked projects.
