2021 Airfield Pavement Design Evaluation and Analysis Workshop

The 2021 ACC Airfield Pavement Design, Evaluation and Analysis Workshop will take place December 7-9 in Indianapolis, IN.

This three-day workshop provides in-depth training incorporates the latest updates to the FAA’s Advisory Circulars and provides attendees with hands-on experience utilizing FAARFIELD and COMFAA. Limited to 50 participants, the workshop provides a comprehensive introduction to airfield pavement design; airfield pavement types and pavement performance; subgrade soils and granular materials; aircraft traffic; flexible and rigid pavement design; pavement design for airfield shoulders; overlay design; pavement evaluation and overlay considerations; ACN-PCN background and concepts; and PCN approach and determination for rigid and flexible pavements. Learning is supplemented by group problem solving and case study analyses. This workshop offers 18 PDH credits.

WORKSHOP LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion of this ACC workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the methodology behind rigid and flexible pavement design, evaluation and repair.
  • Apply subgrade, materials, and aircraft characteristic inputs to complete pavement designs and analyses using FAARFIELD v2.0.3.
  • Calculate PCN values for rigid and flexible pavements using COMFAA.
  • Describe the different types of HMA and PCC overlay designs.
  • Use characteristics of existing pavements and FAARFIELD’s overlay design procedures to develop overlays of rigid and flexible pavements.

Participation is limited to the first 50 registrants for the 2021 workshop, and registration is per person. Registration closes either November 15th or when 50 paid registrations have been received – whichever comes first. Payment must be received when registering to secure your spot.

ACC will follow the latest CDC, ISDH, local guidelines, and hotel mandates to implement preventive measures to reduce the potential spread of COVID-19.

Attendees should review and plan to abide by the following guidelines prior to registering for the ACC 2021 Airfield Pavement Design, Evaluation & Analysis Workshop.

Before Leaving Home

  • Attendees are asked to be vaccinated or provide a negative test result taken 48 hours prior to the workshop.
  • Attendees must follow relevant guidance provided by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and/or your local health authority.
  • Attendees must adhere to government-issued travel guidance and all applicable restrictions issued by the authorities in the region to/from which you are traveling.
  • Please do not attend the workshop if you believe you have been exposed to or have experienced signs and symptoms of COVID-19 within ten days of the workshop.

On-Site During the Workshop

All attendees will abide by state and local ordinances and the hotel policies related to COVID-19 prevention. The hotel will follow the CDC and local authority guidance at the time of the workshop.

  • Please regularly wash and sanitize your hands throughout the day, and we ask that you wear a face-covering indoors. When possible, we also request that you practice social distancing.
  • Disposable masks will be provided at the registration desk for those who need one.
  • Hand sanitizer stations will be positioned throughout the hotel and meeting space for your convenience.
  • If an attendee begins to actively experience COVID-19 symptoms during the workshop they should self-quarantine immediately and notify ACC staff right away.

Post-Workshop

  • Workshop attendees should self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and are asked to contact ACC right away if they test positive for COVID-19 up to 14 days after returning home.

By registering for and attending the 2021 ACC Airfield Pavement Design, Evaluation & Analysis Workshop, you agree to abide by, and engage in, the outlined health-and-safety conduct outlined and acknowledge and understand that you are knowingly and freely assuming all risks related to illness and infectious diseases, such as COVID-19, by attending this event. EARN 17.75 PDH CREDITS

The ACC discounted hotel room rate is $179 per night.
