Call for Symposium Topics and Moderators
Submissions are now open for topics and moderators for the 2027 Airport Planning, Design, & Construction Symposium. We encourage proposals that reflect the breadth of our industry, showcase innovative thinking, and bring diverse perspectives to the conversation.
The submission deadline has been extended to August 5, 2026.
As the airport industry continues to evolve, we are seeking topics that represent a wide range of experiences, project types, airport sizes, geographic regions, stakeholder perspectives, and emerging challenges and opportunities.
What We’re Looking For
We encourage submissions that:
- Highlight innovative and forward-looking ideas\
- Present compelling technical content and practical lessons learned
- Showcase case studies, applications, and real-world outcomes
- Explore international airport planning, development, design, and construction projects
- Address emerging trends, technologies, policies, and industry challenges
- Include diverse viewpoints and multidisciplinary perspectives
- Foster meaningful discussion and audience engagement
We welcome both established and new voices and encourage proposals from airports, consultants, contractors, owners, suppliers, technology providers, public agencies, and other industry stakeholders.
Selection Process
The topic solicitation process is designed to provide all submissions with an equal opportunity for consideration. Each year, the Symposium Planning Committee carefully reviews more than 150 submissions to develop a balanced, engaging, and representative program.
In evaluating submissions, the committee considers factors such as:
- Relevance and value to attendees
- Technical merit and timeliness
- Diversity of topics and perspectives
- Representation across airports, organizations, regions, and stakeholder groups
- Opportunities to include a variety of voices and experiences within panel discussions
The selection of a topic does not guarantee a speaking opportunity for the submitter.

Step 1: Submit Your Topic
Submit your proposed topic through the online survey by 5:00 p.m. ET on August 5, 2026.
If you wish to submit multiple topics, please complete a separate survey for each submission. If multiple topics are included in a single survey response, only the first topic will be considered.
Step 2: Review Process
The Symposium Planning Committee will review all submissions during its meeting in early August. Track Hosts will evaluate submissions within their respective tracks and bring recommendations to the full committee for final review and confirmation. The committee will select five sessions for each track based on the established evaluation criteria and the overall goal of creating a well-rounded, diverse, and engaging program.
Step 3: Topic Confirmation
Selected topics will be announced at the end of August. Track Hosts will contact individuals whose topics have been chosen for inclusion in the program.
If your topic is not selected, you will be notified via email.
