Airport Facilities Planning - Intern  


LeighFisher, a global transportation management consulting firm, is seeking outstanding candidates with strong technical and quantitative skills and a passion for aviation to work on cutting-edge projects with out Airport Facility Planning practice.  Potential project opportunities include:
- Developing software tools to analyze and communication aviation data and analyses 
- Working with our project teams to develop large-hub airport master plans
- Design and model airport runway and taxiway systems 
- Asses impacts of transportation networking companies (Uber, Lyft) on airport ground access 
- Conduct strategic and integrated environmental and climate change assessments

Mechanical Engineering Intern 

Mechanical Engineering Interns are responsible for performing tasks requiring the application of standard mechanical engineering techniques and procedures, including standard design of mechanical systems, assisting lead engineers with various project duties, etc.  Mechanical Engineering Interns in the Aviation & Federal markets should expect work regarding design of all mechanical systems for airports, aircraft maintenance hangars, and airport fueling systems.

Project Assistant (Aviation Internship)

J|D Internships are typically three months and individuals should be pursuing, at least, a Bachelors degree in one of the core education areas listed below.

J|D is seeking individuals with excellent organizational, technical, written, and verbal communication skills and who have interest in design, planning and consulting for airports and the aviation industry. Candidates should be self-motivated and have the capacity to work creatively within a highly motivated staff of consultants.

We are seeking candidates who can represent the firm with honesty and integrity. Candidate educational backgrounds should include at least one of the following, Engineering, Architecture, Planning, Aviation Management/Science, Mathematics, Environmental Science, Graphic Design, or any other related field. Our internships/Co-ops are designed to expose individuals to consulting practices.
